Read, and open any word you don’t know

The reading view keeps the Arabic, the English and word-by-word help on one screen, with recitation audio and a speed control. Tap a word and you get its meanings, a picture that makes it stick, and the grammar rule behind the ending.

Kalaam word detail screen showing an Arabic word, its meaning and an illustrated mnemonic for remembering it.

A reason to come back tomorrow

A daily challenge, a game built only from the words you are due to review, and a weekly leaderboard you can narrow to your country, your city or your own friends. Streaks and rankings are worked out on the server, so the phone reads one small, ready-made document instead of recounting everything.

Kalaam daily game: an English phrase above a grid of Arabic word tiles, with a timer and a points counter.
Kalaam weekly leaderboard listing ranked learners and their points, with tabs for global, country and city.
  • Kalaam is a charity-funded project to help people learn the Quran. Averolt turned it into interactive games and activities that give learners a reason to come back each day, on both iOS and Android.
